Sprawl. Structures, Feedbacks and Disruptions
Innsbruck, The Bäckerei, City Halls & University Library
16.09 to 31.10.2011
Project description
The festival Sprawl. Structures, Feedbacks and Disruptions, a performative exhibition situation in public space, was curated by Lucas Norer and Doris Prlić and opened on 16th September 2011.
It comprised an art festival of several days in the shape of temporary spatial interventions and appropriations of various places in the Tyrol. The focus was on the selected places, their occupancy, design and changes.
In interplay with urban, village and rural architectures, the places and their surroundings were questioned in experimental ways in relation to the themes of structures, feedbacks and disruptions. https://www.flickr.com/photos/sprawlfestival/
Participating artists:
Nikolaus Gansterer, Marlene Hausegger, Matthias Klos, Marianne Lang, Winkler / Köperl, Tao Vrhovec Sambolec
Festival locations:
The “festival headquarters” in the “Bäckerei” in Innsbruck is itself a place of transition, both in respect to the architectural conditions and also to its position in the city. The headquarters is simultaneously an exhibition space and an information centre, the remains of performances and interventions in public space are kept here, as well as their artistically processed documentation.
