Beate Ronacher

SEELENSCHÜTTELN (transl.: SOUL-SHAKING) lies at the intersection of performance, participation and transformative, collective (dance) event. In a two-hour performance led by Beate Ronacher, the artist dances together with the audience to a DJ set by Rova and visuals by Harald Scherz. Through breathing techniques, mediation in motion and energy work, participants are invited to engage physically with their inner processes in order to initiate transformation. The individual experience is embedded in the shared, collective experience of the music and the transformative energy. SEELENSCHÜTTELN takes place in the Mariahilfkirche in Innsbruck — a sacred space serving as the venue for the transformative, collective ‘shaking of the soul‘, the church as a place for the connection of the individual with the greater whole, the divine.
