Project description

Tourism, big movement and non-disabled notions of physical fitness are all associations coming to mind when thinking of the Alps surrounding Innsbruck and throughout Tyrol. These big beautiful mountains support an ecology of tourists coming to hike up them, rivers running down them and Disabled and neurodivergent people wondering — where do I start? When considering who is sweating and why, it may be that you’re sweating hiking up a big beautiful mountain – or sweating at the bottom wondering – will the path be wheelchair accessible? Will the elevator work? Will I be able to navigate through a muddy pathway and will my trans* body be safe in the midst of eco-fascist lands?

sensory, sculptural, seats produces a series of portable, accessible, trans* sculptural interventions that are permission giving. These supportive interventions position our bodies while lounging on them towards our desires with the natural environment in the Alps enabling pleasure and desire — celebrating the specifics of our bodyminds — enabling more trans*, more crip, and more queer orientations towards and with our bodies and the queer nature all around us.
